G Force Border Collies and the family who love them. I am going to try to use this blog for not only G Force Border Collies but to also put family information on too. It is hard for me to seperate the two, the family and the Border Collies, so I hope people understand.

Puppies coming soon~!
Well not only do we have puppies coming soon but my new building is looking good. Once the work is done I will share photos. The building is 12X32 and so far we have the electic done, sheet rock is in and we will be floating it soon. I am so excited! It is nice to have such a great husband who will spend his days off working all day at home. The building will really come in handy with the Border Collies.
Oh... Lucy is the one pregnant and she is doing wonderful.

Border Collie colors
I have been getting a lot of Border Collie color questions lately and I would like point people to one site. www.bordercolliecolors.com
We have one male dog that is a little confusing as far as color goes. Our boy Trip is a sable gold merle and the problem is he looks like a gold and white dog. The gold color is the ee gene and the ee gene is simply a masking gene so it will mask the "True" color or pattern of hairs. The easiest to understand ee gene would be the Lab. Notice how all labs have either a chocolate or black nose? Well that is because they are genetically a chocolate or black dog with the ee masking gene that has "masked" the true color of the dog. My dog's parents a gold dad and a blue merle mom. My dog was a dark gold pup at birth and but we had no way of knowing if he was a merle nowing without DNA'ing for the merle gene or breeding him. When bred he sired merles in every litter as well as saddle pattern sables too.
Usually with gold's people can tell the dogs true color by looking at the nose. If a gold dog has a chocolate nose he is a chocolate dog, blue nose is a blue dog, black nose is a black dog, lilac nose is a lilac dog. But we are not able to tell patterns on a gold dog so you cannot see merle, brindle or sable on golds.

Kiera is almost 2 years old now!
Getting ready
Okay I think I got it all done! Woo hooo. The dogs have not been to a show since last May and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they just act okay. Not worried about points, just the dogs being good in the ring. Kiera was at the vet yesterday because she swallowed a bone and was gagging. Kiera's throat is scratched so she is making a hacking noise off and on but she does not seem bothered.
I will be going to set up my stuff in the morning and then Sat. we have an early show morning. Since my hubby is offshore it will be me and the kids, Michelle and maybe my mom helping out at the show too.
Hopefully now that Rodney is back to work after his surgery we will be able to make more shows. Fingers crossed!
